Halal conference kickstarts next week, with local, foreign exhibitors from many fields

SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 — The Selangor Halal International Conference (Selhac) will hold its inaugural meeting on March 4 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) for a three-day period.

The programme is expected to run from 10am to 9.30pm, featuring exhibitors from six clusters including food and beverage, health and pharmaceuticals, beauty and self-care, hospitalisation and tourism, as well as polite fashion and ingredients.

The conference will also involve three components, which are forums, expos, and business matchings.

On February 23, state executive councillor for halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said up to 100 exhibitors from 40 companies are expected to participate in Selhac.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is scheduled to officiate the programme’s opening on March 4.

Selhac is a programme organised by the state government, with participation from domestic and international halal industry players. The public is invited to attend and in so doing obtain much information related to the industry.
