SHAH ALAM, March 10 — The public is welcome to buy inexpensive daily necessities under the state’s Jualan Ehsan Prihatin Rakyat programme at four state constituencies this weekend.
These locations include the community service centres in Pandan Indah and Teratai on March 12, as well as Sungai Tua and Gombak Setia on March 13.
The items include standard chicken priced at RM12 each, fresh solid meat (RM35 per kg), grade B chicken eggs (RM10 per pack) and mackerel or selayang fish (RM8 per pack).
Previously state executive councillor for agriculture Izham Hashim said the Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme offers daily necessities such as chicken, eggs, beef and fish at affordable prices, starting from February 27 and leading up to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
He said the programme, held on Saturday and Sunday, is carried out in cooperation with Selangor Agro Market as well as PKPS and is a continuation of the Chicken and Egg Price Intervention programme launched by the Menteri Besar last month.
Izham added the authorities are targeting an estimated 10,000 chicken, 3,100kg of fresh beef, 6,200kg of mackerel and selayang fish, as well as 315,000 Grade B chicken eggs to be sold throughout the programme.
