Affordable foodstuffs programme helps residents save nearly RM150,000

SHAH ALAM, March 27 — The Ehsan Food Price Intervention Programme has managed to help Selangor’s residents save nearly RM150,000 so far, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the affordable sales programme also recorded approximately RM496,852 in sales.

Alhamdulillah, the Ehsan Food Price Intervention Programme aimed at ensuring quality wet goods can be sold at a cheaper price has recorded nearly RM500,000 in sales.

“Selangor residents have been able to save nearly RM150,000. The programme’s roadshow will continue on to cover the entire state,” Amirudin said in a Facebook post.

Based on the infographic shared by the Menteri Besar, approximately 29,265 chickens, 13,200 boards of eggs, 448 kg of beef and 1,249 fish have been sold through the programme.

It is held every weekend and targets 64 locations throughout Selangor as part of the effort to lighten the people’s burden following the rising prices of goods.

In addition to eggs and chicken, other products sold include fresh beef at RM35 per kg, mackerel and selayang fish at RM8 per pack and cooking oil.
