AMPANG, March 12 — Selangor will organise more Jualan Ehsan Prihatin Rakyat programme at each state constituencies during Ramadan.

Selangor state executive councillor for agriculture Izham Hashim said more affordable essential food items will also be added to the programme to help ease the burden of rising food prices.

“After the Selangor State Assembly sitting, we will look into this matter, including the frequency at each of the locations and the sale of other food items. Previously we have identified 62 locations.

“In the two weeks of the programme, the response has been very good. Residents want it to be carried out more often, especially during Ramadan, so we will see to it,” he said after visiting the programme held at Jalan Pandan 8, Pandan Jaya, here today.

He said any decision to be made on the frequency of the programme at locations will prioritise areas inhabited by low-income groups.

Today, the programme which started on February 27 until Hari Raya Aidilfitri, was held at Kampung Melayu Subang in Subang and Jalan Permai 2 in Tasik Permai.

It will continue tomorrow at Jalan GP2A in Gombak Permai, Dewan Beringin in Taman Seri Gombak and Padang Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya.
