Water supply restored by 62 pct, 5 areas still underway

SHAH ALAM, March 11 — Water supply has been restored to 62 per cent of the 13 affected areas in Kuala Lumpur after a burst pipe incident in Jalan Kuari, Kg Cheras Baru, as of 6pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the water supply in five areas are still affected, with the recovery period differing from one area to another, depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“Full recovery for the five areas that have still not recovered is expected at 4am tomorrow (March 12),” it said on Facebook.

The areas still affected are Taman Muda, Taman Bukit Permai, Taman Mawar, Taman Putra and Pandan Mewah.

The water agency advised its consumers who have received water supply let the tap run until the water is clear before using it for daily consumption.

“Air Selangor hopes that consumers who receive their water supply will use it prudently, to ensure the restoration process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” it said.
