SHAH ALAM, May 27 — There are five types of cancer that are common in the country and the disease can attack all levels of society, including children, said state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

She said the top five types of cancer affecting Malaysians are breast, colorectal, lung, lymphoma and nasopharynx.

“All groups of people, young, old, men, women, and even children are at risk of having these five types of cancer.

“Let us prevent cancer beforehand through early detection by registering for the health screening on the SELangkah app,” she said in a Facebook post.

The free health screening programme Selangor Saring offers health check-ups to the people in the state and will continue in the Sabak district tomorrow.

Sabak and Sungai Air Tawar constituents can go for the health screening which will take place at Dewan Tun Razak in Sabak Bernam, while for the Sungai Panjang state constituency it will be held at Dewan Simpang Lima in Sungai Besar.
