SHAH ALAM, May 26 — The flash floods that hit Sekinchan yesterday have since receded, said its state assemblyman Ng Suee Lim.

He said only a few areas including Pasar Awam Sekinchan were still flooded, but are expected to recede completely by this afternoon.

“I have instructed the Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) and the Sekinchan Community Service Centre including councillors and village heads to assist the flood victims.

“I also asked them to list down the number of victims for registration so they can receive assistance through the District Disaster Fund,” Ng told SelangorKini.

He added that to avoid waste piling up after the flood, help has been requested from KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM).

Yesterday, thousands of houses around Sekinchan were flooded by almost half a metre of water following continuous heavy rain between 11am and 2pm.

The heavy rain which had been occurring since morning also hit the Klang Valley causing floods at several roads in the federal capital, including Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Duta Mas, Jalan Ampang and Jalan Dang Wangi.
