SHAH ALAM, June 7 — The state government will form the Belia Insani (Bina) unit to focus on tahfiz students throughout Selangor, said state executive councillor for young generation development Mohd Khairuddin Othman.

He said Bina is aimed at attracting the participation of tahfiz students in various events organised by the state government, such as the Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS)

“Some of the suggestions for activities include e-sports competitions and Qasidah musical programmes with tahfiz students from all over Selangor.

“The purpose is to discard the perception that tahfiz students only learn the al-Quran, whereas they are also involved in current technological developments like e-sports,” Mohd Khairuddin said.

He was speaking to the media at the event meeting with tahfiz students and Wakaf al-Quran contributions at Maahad Tahfiz An-Nur (Matan) in Taman Puchong Intan earlier today.

On Bina’s establishment, Mohd Khairuddin added he expects it to be carried out sometime in the next few months.

“We have already formulated the programme content under Bina. InsyaAllah, by July or August we will launch it,” he said.
