Downpour in three Selangor districts until early morning tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, June 13 — Heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are anticipated for the district of Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat later tonight.

Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement released at 8.45pm said the inclement weather will last until 1am tomorrow morning.

The agency said other states and locations which are expected to undergo strong weather include Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Gua Musang), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Bentong and Temerloh), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu) and Sarawak: Miri (Beluru and Marudi) and Limbang.

The agency issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.

Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and are valid within six hours after it was issued.
