Strata property rights, all complete applications processed according to set period — MB

SHAH ALAM, July 29 — All fully-submitted strata ownership applications have been processed in accordance with the set period as defined by the Selangor Land and Mines Office (PTGS) customer charter, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the authorities are aware and are committed to resolving the strata development scheme which does not yet have property rights, including the establishment of a special team.

“Based on the public’s complaints and information provided, as well as from the building commissioner, a special PTGS team has been formed to resolve the problematic strata ownership issue in Selangor

“However, PTGS can take action per Section 8 of the Strata Title Act 1985 against any original land owner or developer who fails to submit the title application,” Amirudin said.

The Menteri Besar was responding to a query from Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Haniza Mohamed Talha, on the issue of granting strata ownership rights to buyers who have been waiting for over a decade, during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly session earlier today.

He said PTGS’ steps that will be implemented include helping to list the strata scheme to those who have not received it, and to coordinate the necessary process in strata ownership.

“Other steps include identifying problems and issues related to strata ownership schemes, monitoring problematic strata schemes, and carrying out enforcement actions in accordance with Section 8 of the Strata Ownership Act 1985,” Amirudin said.
