SHAH ALAM, Aug 20 — Inclement weather is inbound for eight Selangor districts until 3pm, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
In a statement issued at 12.25pm, the agency said the districts include Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat dan Sepang.
“Other states and areas which will be affected include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Melaka, Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Terengganu (Setiu and Kuala Nerus), Negeri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau), Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru) and Sarawak (Kuching, Serian and Samarahan),” it said on Facebook today.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
