Team Selangor help to clean flood-affected schools in Baling

SHAH ALAM, Aug 2 — A total of 50 volunteers from Team Selangor participated in the gotong-royong programme at a school compound affected by the flooding disaster early last month.

The team helped to wash clothes and arrange mud-covered furniture, for the comfort of Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Yayasan Al-Khairiah students.

“SMA Yayasan Al-Khairiah was among the worst affected areas during the Baling floods.

“To ensure a smooth schooling session, Team Selangor dispatched its volunteers to the school’s cleaning programme,” said Team Malaysia on Facebook.

On July 4, continuous heavy rain in Baling resulted in Sungai Kupang’s water level overflowing into nearby residents’ houses. The incident claimed three lives.

The Selangor Penyayang mission convoy involved 263 individuals from various agencies, including Selangor Volunteers (Serve) members who were mobilised to Baling to help in post-flood cleaning works.
