Women’s conference tablings to serve as framework for women’s development action plan

SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — The results of the tablings of presentations during the Selangor Women’s Conference today will be used as a framework to ensure the state’s women’s development action plan will be more effective.

State executive councillor for urban housing and welfare Rodziah Ismail said the conference is also expected to be a platform for sharing research results, as well as making new contacts.

“To inform everybody, the state government is currently examining and reviewing the success and effectiveness of the Selangor Women’s Policy and Action Plan 2017 – 2020.

“I hope this conference will also be used to develop various new ideas and input to improve the plan,” she said in her opening speech at the conference, held at the MBSA Convention Center earlier today.

The conference, themed ‘Post-Pandemic Women’s Challenge: Towards a Fair, Prosperous and Inclusive Selangor’ (Cabaran Wanita Pasca Pandemik: Ke Arah Selangor Saksama, Sejahtera dan Inklusif), commenced today.

Running until Thursday (August 25) it will discuss various topics covering the economy, health, education, and the arts and culture sectors.
