SHAH ALAM, Sept 10 — The participation of local public and private aviation institutions at the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2022 made it easier for visitors, especially students, to choose the right courses to further their studies.

University College of Aviation Malaysia (UniCAM) Academic head Muhammad Nurulfaqih Mohd Sajali said they are ready to help students who wish to pursue studies in aviation and aerospace from certificate level to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

“UniCAM is one of the universities in Malaysia that offers academic programmes in the field of aviation. So we use this opportunity (participation in SAS 2022) to provide advice to visitors who are interested in studying at UniCAM.

“UniCAM also charges a reasonable tuition fee rate of RM20,000 for diploma and bachelor’s degree (RM40,000),” he said when met at the SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre (SkyPark RAC) here, yesterday.

The university offers courses in flight management, air transport, aeronautical technology, flight and cabin crew services, aircraft operations management, flight safety management and flight financial management.

Muhammad Nurulfaqih said the institution, which was established in 2007, currently has more than 1,000 students who are studying at various levels and majors.

“We are aiming to register between 50 to 100 students with UniCAM during the SAS 2022 event, thus expanding the university, especially in terms of the number of students.

“The diploma and bachelor’s degree students will study for three years involving theory and industrial training,” he said, adding that many UniCAM students managed to find placement in the industry immediately upon graduation.

The state government through Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) started organising SAS last year to provide networking opportunities for industry players and expose the public to the aviation sector.

SAS 2022 takes place from Thursday until today with 63 exhibitors from Singapore, Brazil, France, the US, Switzerland, Nigeria, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
