Deluge for most of Selangor until 5pm — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — Inclement weather is inbound for seven Selangor districts until 5pm, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement issued at 2.15pm, the agency said the districts include Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

“Other states and areas which will be affected include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Perak (Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), and Terengganu (Setiu, Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu).

“Similarly Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan and Bera), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Jempol), and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi) will also be affected,” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
