SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 — Approximately 187 people from Petaling and Klang were granted awards in conjunction with the 76th birthday of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
The conferring ceremony was officiated by the Tengku Laksamana of Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Alhaj, who represented His Royal Highness in Dewan Jubli Perak of the Selangor State Secretariat Building earlier today.
A total of 111 individuals were awarded Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), followed by 40 with Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC) (40), 31 with Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), and five with Pingat Perkhidmatan Selangor (PPS).
The PJK award is granted to individuals who have served and contributed to Selangor for a long time, with diligence, obedience, and who possess special attributes and are of good character.
Similarly, the PPT award is for individuals who have carried out distinguished and selected deeds while the PPC award is for public officials who have served meritoriously in a support group and have served a minimum of seven years within the state government.
Lastly, the PPS award is for government employees who are serving or have served 20 years with the state government with commendable behaviour.
Also in attendance during the conferring ceremony was Selangor State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim, State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Hasnul Baharuddin, and several State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN) members.
The ceremony will continue tomorrow, and includes the districts of Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Sepang.
