KLANG, Sept 17 — The organising of BoomTown@Klang has turned the once-deserted Padang Laman Seni along Jalan Tengku Diaudin into a lively place.
Starting last month, people can now relax with their families on every Friday to Sunday, from 5pm to 12am as they enjoy a variety of recreational activities.
State executive councillor for culture and heritage Borhan Aman Shah said the initiative by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) should be emulated by all Selangor local authorities, as a move to promote the state’s cultural arts and tourism activities.
“I consider this a suitable programme as MPK utilises an existing space for leisure and family activities.
“Concurrently, it also generates economic activities for small entrepreneurs who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said after visiting BoomTown@Klang yesterday.
BoomTown@Klang visitors can also enjoy its mural works at the Safari Art Site, and the beauty of the Royal Klang Heritage Walk in the surrounding areas.
Located in front of Galeri Diraja Sultan Abdul Aziz, it offers over 20 food stalls served in a picnic style.
