KLANG, Oct 24 — Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) is confident it can retain the Kapar, Klang and Kota Raja parliamentary seats in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).

Its chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this is based on performance and the belief the three areas are PH strongholds.

He added the seat discussions went well and concluded in July,

The candidate who won in the last election will remain in the contest for GE15.

“For example, Kota Raja was won by Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), thus, it remains the representative of PH, while in Klang, DAP remains the contestant in GE15 and Kapar will see PH representing it.

“However, it is not enough to simply state (of winning) but must also be proven by the workings of the election machinery. When the machinery starts moving and it is time to vote, we will be informed that Kapar, Klang and Kota Raja remains under PH,” he said.

He was speaking at the launch of the PH election machinery in Kapar, Klang and Kota Raja as well as the Polling Station Agents and Vote Counting Agents briefing at the Dewan Serbaguna Taman Sentosa yesterday (October 23).

In GE14, the Kapar seat was won by Abdullah Sani with a majority of 16,306 votes, while Klang was won by Charles Santiago with a majority of 78,773 votes, and Mohamad Sabu won Kota Raja with 90,697 votes.
