Tough job awaits Terengganu FC in Kuantan

KUALA NERUS, Oct 25 — Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Nafuzi Zain admits that a tough task awaits his men when they face Sri Pahang FC in the opening match of the Malaysia Cup campaign at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan tomorrow night.

Nafuzi said he had seen improvements in Sri Pahang’s playing style in the last two matches of the Super League, including when they beat Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) 2-0 at the Darul Makmur Stadium recently.

“With the improved playing style in their last match in the Super League, we expect fierce fight from the Tok Gajah squad who are guided by a coach with extensive experience.

“The presence of Lee Tuck and Sergio Aguero in the attacking and central positions will definitely have a positive impact on Sri Pahang. So the players need to be more careful and alert,” he said when met at their training session at the Gong Badak Sports Complex, yesterday.

Despite the challenge, Nafuzi remains optimistic that they will be able to tame the Tok Gajah squad at home ground if his men work hard and display their best performance.

“I hope the players can really focus because it’s a difficult match. There’s no need to think about reaching the quarter-finals or anything like that. Let’s win against Pahang first.

“We need to find as many goals as possible there (Pahang),” he added.

Meanwhile, Nafuzi said he was relieved that all the players including two import pillars, Pape Diakite and Petrus Shetembi, who were injured during the match against Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC, have recovered from their injuries.
