SEPANG, Nov 8 — Aiman Athirah Sabu’s calm demeanour when campaigning makes the Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) candidate for the Sepang parliamentary seat easy to approach.
“I am here to listen to problems. Tell me, what is wrong here?” is her favourite phrase when on the ground, making residents feel more comfortable in expressing their opinions.
In every ‘getting to know each other’ programme, Aiman Athirah will bring councillors from each zone so problems can be discussed bilaterally to find a solution.
In addition to expressing their problems, the residents also gave Aiman Athirah several words of encouragement such as ‘you can win here, do not worry’, while some even pleaded ‘to not be left behind’ if she wins.
The Sepang candidate openly listened to residents’ grievances, including issues on garbage, unmaintained drains and flood problems.
Aiman Athirah is also determined to continue to be the voice and ears of the people.
“My focus is not power and wealth, my focus is to develop the country for everyone. I am just afraid the people of Sepang would be tired of seeing my face later,” she quipped humorously.
“Everyday I will be on ground. Because I am used to working for the sake of the people and to fight for you. That’s why I am here,” Aiman Athirah added when met in Pengkalan Manggis at Sepang, here today.
She is competing against former Women’s Development minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun from Perikatan Nasional and Anuar Basiran from Barisan Nasional, among others, in an eight-cornered fight.
