KUALA LANGAT, Nov 18 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) candidate for the Kuala Langat parliamentary seat Manivanan Gowin will provide more than 30 vehicles as encouragement and convenience for residents to go out to vote.
He said the elderly, the disabled and the less able are among the target groups to receive this benefit.
“There may not be a problem in the urban areas because there is transportation, but in villages or rural areas, the polling centres are far away.
“We will make sure that the residents are also sent home after because based on my experience as a Member of Parliament for Kapar, some of them were left alone to their own devices,” he said when met by SelangorKini.
Manivannan said he had also been informed that there are locals willing to volunteer to pick up and drop off residents.
“Some of them have met me and volunteered to look after certain areas to pick up residents. This is what we celebrate, the unity among the people even though we are of different religions and races.
“It doesn’t matter who they vote for, as long as we provide logistical facilities so that they can carry out their responsibility to go out and vote,” he said.
In this election, Manivannan is up against Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi under the Perikatan Nasional ticket in a six-cornered competition.
