SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 — Selangor citizens are invited to apply for the Skim Air Darul Ehsan initiative, which offers up to 20 cubic meters of free water.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the scheme’s application is open until December 31, 2024, and can be made at www.airselangor.com

“Under the Pakatan Harapan leadership, various initiatives were introduced that benefit the people, including the free water scheme,” he said in a Facebook post.

Amirudin added over 300,000 people in Selangor enjoy the free water via the scheme every month.

The number is expected to increase to another 100,000, with a total cost of RM30 million fully-borne by the state government.

Beginning this year the eligibility limit for applicants, who were limited to a maximum household income of RM4,000, was amended to RM5,000.

Other conditions are that applicants must be Malaysian citizens and residing in Selangor, the applicant’s residential premise must be an individual meter type, and each applicant is only allowed to apply for one account.
