SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) candidate for Shah Alam parliamentary seat  Azli Yusof plans to redevelop the old PKNS Flat in Section 16, here, if he is given the mandate in the upcoming 15th general election.

He said the initiative would bring comfort to the residents of the 60-year-old old building, aligned with the advanced progress in the Shah Alam city.

“This might involve some amendments of the existing redevelopment act, InsyaAllah (God willing), we will try to provide the residents with more conducive and modern homes,” he said when met here today.

Azli added he will also visit several other housing areas in Padang Jawa and Kampung Kebun Bunga, which also requires redevelopment.

Previously, Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Najwan Halimi had suggested the flat undergo total refurbishment instead of minor or upgrades to its facade.

Azli, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Management from University of Missouri-Rolla in the United States, will contest against Hizatul Isham Abdul Jalil (Barisan Nasional), Dr Afif Bahardin (Perikatan Nasional) and Muhammad Rafique Rashid from Pejuang.
