Floods: Over 2,000 still at relief centres across six states this evening

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — A total of 2,311 flood evacuees are still being housed in relief centres across six states as of 4 pm today.

In KELANTAN, 2,006 people from 632 families remain in seven relief centres in Pasir Mas district, a slight decrease from 2,019 people from 637 families this morning.

From the total 712 people are at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tok Deh, SK Gual Periok (544), SK Kubang Kual (256), SK Sri Kiambang (234), PPS Putat Tujoh (157), Masjid Mukim Padang Licin (69) and SK Kedai Tanjong (34).

In TERENGGANU, the number of evacuees also dropped to 29 people from eight families compared to 37 people this morning. They are all being housed at the sole relief centre still open, Sekolah Kebangsaan Atas Tol in Kuala Terengganu.

In PAHANG, the flood situation remained the same with 141 people from 36 families still remaining at SK Sinar Mutiara in Sungai Miang, Pekan.

Similarly in JOHOR, 91 evacuees remained in two flood-hit districts, Segamat, with 21 families being housed in four relief centres, and Mersing, with three families in one centre.

In PERAK, 35 people from nine families are still being sheltered as of 4 pm, with 28 people from seven families at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai, Manjung, and seven people from two families at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Tebing Tinggi in Kampar.

Meanwhile, in SARAWAK only nine people from two families remain at Dewan Kampung Melayu Balai Ringin, Serian this evening.
