Jualan Ehsan Rakyat rakes in nearly RM20 mln, benefits two mln residents — MB

SHAH ALAM, Dec 29 — The Jualan Ehsan Rakyat (JER) affordable basic necessities sale conducted in all state constituencies throughout Selangor has recorded approximately RM19.65 million throughout its duration.

On Twitter, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said JER was conducted with a RM6.16 subsidy from the state government and has benefitted some two million Selangor residents.

Earlier this month, he announced an additional allocation of between RM10 and RM15 million to continue the programme, for another three months, beginning on January 15, 2023.

Held on weekends, members of the public can purchase daily goods at prices lower than the market average, which includes chickens at RM10 each, fresh beef (RM10 per pack), and Grade B eggs (RM10 per tray).

Other items sold in JER are mackerels and sardines for RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil (RM25), and 5kg rice bags (RM10).
