Pandamaran opens 400 slots for CNY vouchers

SHAH ALAM, Dec 28 — The Pandamaran state constituency has opened 400 slots for shopping vouchers in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

Its state assemblyman Tony Leong Tuck Chee said applications could be done starting yesterday at the Pandamaran community service centre, Klang.

“Each family is allowed to apply once and applicants are asked to bring complete documentation to ensure the approval process runs smoothly.

“The application ends on January 6 and vouchers will be handed over in person at the Giant supermarket in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. We will inform the public when the vouchers will be distributed,” he said when contacted.

Among the application requirements include the applicant’s income must be RM2,000 or less and provided awith a salary slip or a copy of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

Applicants also need to attach a copy of their identity card (husband and wife), while for those who no longer have a spouse, they will need to attach a death certificate or divorce certificate.

The 2023 Selangor Budget has allocated RM16.48 million for the Jom Shopping voucher programme in conjunction with major festivals which will benefit 82,400 recipients.

The programme is an aid implemented in conjunction with three major festivals, namely Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year and Deepavali to ease the burden of families in need to buy essential goods.

The voucher’s value has also been increased from RM100 to RM200 following economic situations and the needs of the people.
