Translated books offered at Big Bad Wolf, discounts of up to 20 per cent

SHAH ALAM, Dec 20 — The Inisiatif Buku Darul Ehsan (IBDE) is offering 60 books of various genres at the Big Bad Wolf Book Fair, held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre starting today.

Its sales and marketing manager Ainunl Muaiyinah Muhammad Sulaiman said the visitors can also take advantage of the discounts between 10 to 20 per cent on offer for on selected books during the event, which runs until January 2, 2023, from 10am to 2am.

“Translated books such as Muhammad: Riwayat Hidup Berdasarkan Sumber Terawal by Martin Lings and Gelagat dan Ragam Orang Melayu by Frank Swettenham are expected to be the top choice among book lovers.

“Apart from that, three books by Imam Al-Ghazali namely Penyelamat daripada Kesesatan, Ciri Pemisah Antara Islam dan Zindik, as well as Ilmu Kalam: Tegahan Buat Orang Awam are also anticipated to sell out,” she said when contacted today.

Ainunl Muaiyinah said the three latest translated pieces by IBDE are Muhammad Ali: Raja Dunia, Wira Amerika; Strategi Rahsia China and Penyucian Kalbu Tanda Penyakit Hati will not be available at the book fair.

“IBDE’s participation in the book fair aims to provide an opportunity to the public, especially Klang Valley residents who could not manage to attend other book fairs before this, to come and get our collection of books,” she said.

The state government has provided a grant to IBDE for the publishing of translated books including history, philosophy as well as religion.
