By Nasuha Badrul Huzaini

SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — Water supply restoration in areas affected by the unscheduled disruption has reached 86 per cent as of 12pm today, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

The company said the duration of the water supply recovery will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“Air Selangor also hopes that consumers who have received the water supply will use water prudently to ensure that the water supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” the agency said on Facebook.

On Saturday (December 24), Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi water treatment plants were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.

A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions have been affected by the unscheduled water supply disruptions starting namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).
