SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — Water supply was fully restored in about 80 per cent of the areas experiencing unscheduled water supply disruption as of 9am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“Air Selangor also hopes that consumers who have received the water supply will use water prudently to ensure that the water supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” the agency said on Facebook.

On Saturday (December 24), Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi water treatment plants were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.

A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting 7am namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).
