By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — A total of 3.56 million residents in the state have applied for the Selangor General Insurance Scheme (Insan) as of November 17, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the millions of registrations proved that the initiative is welcomed by the people and is in line with the state’s agenda to implement human welfare in a caring society.

“This scheme with a coverage value of RM60 billion provides insurance coverage of up to RM10,000 for cases of permanent disability and death due to accidents.

“Millions of registrations prove that this initiative is welcomed by the people of Selangor. This is one of the state’s agenda to implement well-being in a caring society,” he said in a Facebook post.

Insan is a group general insurance cover implemented by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI to six million Selangor citizens and is offered to individuals aged 30 days up to 80 years.

Eligibility requirements for applicants are holders of an identification or MyKid card with an address in Selangor, an identification card with a Selangor code or a voter in Selangor.

Registration can be made through the Wavpay application that can be downloaded from the AppStore, Google Play or Huawei App Gallery. For more information, visit programinsan.com.
