SHAH ALAM, Jan 13 — Two food premises have been ordered to close after the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) determined they failed to comply with its hygiene regulations.

It said as many as four compounds and eight notices were also issued, in conjunction with Operasi Suci at Dataran Sentosa Bukit Sentosa on Wednesday (January 10).

“The operation was carried out to ensure traders on MPHS rental premises comply with the cleanliness conditions set. A total of eight premises were inspected, with two closed.

“The conditions of the two premises in question were found to be dilapidated, with renovations having taken place. Although they are classified as stalls, changes were made to the premises’ building structure,” MPHS said in a Facebook post yesterday.

The operation, in which the council’s departments including the Control and Grading Unit of the Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning, the Licensing Department and the Building Department took part in, also discovered one trader running a business without a license.
