SHAH ALAM, March 10 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in collaboration with the Malaysian Road Safety Research Institute (Miros) will be organising the national 2023 Micromobility Vehicle Safety Day, this Sunday.

MBSA Corporate and Public Relations Division head Shahrin Ahmad said the programme is to promote the use of the vehicles as a safer first and last mile vehicle.

“This programme is held together with Shah Alam Car Free Day starting at 7.30am at Dataran Kemerdekaan.

“The Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah is expected to inaugurate the programme,” he said to SelangorKini.

Hasbi in the Parliament yesterday said that Shah Alam has been selected as the preferred location for testing the guidelines for micromobility vehicles.

According to him, the finalised guidelines includes plannings for the routes by focusing on elements of infrastructure needs and other support facilities.

Micromobility vehicles refer to the use of micro vehicles with a mass not exceeding 350 kilogrammes and a design speed not exceeding 45 kilometres per hour that is driven by the user personally.
