Unisel expands cooperation to entice foreign students for further studies

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, March 31 — Universiti Selangor (Unisel) has carried out a seris of visits to several countries, as part of its endeavour to draw in more students to continue their studies with them.

Its vice-president and deputy vice-chancellor (student development and community network) Prof Hamdan Mohd Salleh said the institution did so by promoting the courses it offers, as well as developing international cooperation networks.

“Currently we are opening new markets abroad. We recently conducted a trip to Pattani in Thailand, and later in July this year we will head to Padang in Indonesia.

“Prior to this, we also signed 18 memorandums of understanding in Sumatra, Indonesia for student exchange,” he said.

Prof Hamdan added Unisel will similarly visit Oman sometime at the end of the year, to strengthen cooperation with institutions there.

“Interestingly, we have many PhD students from Oman, many of whom are members of its Parliament,” he said.
