KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) amounted to US$115.9 billion (RM515.6 billion) as of April 14, 2023, said the central bank today.
In a statement today, BNM said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 5.1 months of imports of goods and services and is 1.1 times the total short-term external debt.
The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$103.1 billion or RM458.6 billion), International Monetary Funds reserves position (US$1.4 billion or RM6.23 billion), special drawing rights (US$5.8 billion or RM25.8 billion), gold (US$2.5 billion or RM11.12 billion) and other reserve assets (US$3.1 billion or RM13.7 billion).
