SHAH ALAM, April 11 — The Festival Usahawan Gempak at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam last week saw 10 local entrepreneurs hailed during the Anugerah Usahawan Gempak, for their abilities and for making a high impact on the festival’s judges and visitors.

Festival Usahawan Gempak, which ran from April 7 to April 9 and brought together over 150 local brands selling Hari Raya Aidilfitri goods, is one of the three campaigns under the Selangor Smart Raya 2023 initiative organised by the state government via the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).

The awards were presented by the Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, and were also witnessed by Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping and Shah Alam Mayor Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.

The winners received a plaque of appreciation today from the state government through Sidec, for their efforts.

In his speech during the awards ceremony, Fahmi said initiatives like Festival Usahawan Gempak can be given space and opportunities to develop and innovate in the digital era.

This is because it focuses on empowering the culture of digitalisation and applying the use of digital technology in business, among entrepreneurs, and with the authorities.

“This is a platform to encourage, drive and empower entrepreneurs in pursuing their dreams and achieving even greater success,” he said.

Heading the list of winners is renowned songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, president of her company CTDK Holdings Sdn Bhd.
