SHAH ALAM, April 22 — The Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) is prepared and is on standby to ensure water treatment plants (WTP) in the state remain operational and are able to meet consumers’ needs.
It said its personnel are dedicated to ensuring nothing goes wrong, regardless of the time and day like the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, by carrying out patrols and monitoring the conditions of Selangor’s main rivers.
“Luas is always ready to ensure that any problems with the raw water quality can be prevented and if necessary immediately overcome.
“This will guarantee that WTP operations and the water supply remain uninterrupted, and will not affect the daily needs of the people, particularly during the (ongoing ) Aidilfitri celebration,” Luas said in a Facebook post.
Prior to this, the state executive councillor for the environment Hee Loy Sian said the 24-hour Ops Sumber Air will continue to be implemented and improved upon so that any water resource quality problems are prevented and immediate actions can be taken.
He added that round-the-clock operations by Luas are carried out in the river basins of Sungai Selangor and Sungai Langat, encompassing patrolling and static monitoring.
