SHAH ALAM, April 29 — Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) president Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim has been appointed as the third Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) mayor effective May 2.
After more than three years of leading the local council, Mohd Fauzi’s tenure as MPAJ president came to an end yesterday.
Together with MPAJ staff, a farewell ceremony was held yesterday to mark his transfer.
“Thank you for all of the guidance and knowledge you have provided during your time at MPAJ. Numerous successes have been achieved at the regional, national and international levels.
“May our bond continues on. Keep MPAJ in mind and best of luck,” MPAJ wrote on Facebook.
Mohd Fauzi, 56, was appointed MPAJ president in 2020 and holds a Master’s in Land Resource Management from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM).
Prior to that, Mohd Fauzi, who hails from Terengganu, served as Sepang Municipal Council president (2019-2020), Hulu Selangor District officer (2015-2019) and Gombak District chief assistant officer (2011-2015).
Mohd Fauzi also holds a Bachelor of Social Science with Honors from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Diploma in Public Management from the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan).
He also served as the chief assistant secretary of the Corporate Division of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
