SHAH ALAM, April 11 — A total of 16 unlicensed business premises were seized by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) along Jalan Permai D in Tasik Permai, and Pangsapuri Berembang Indah in Ampang during an operation yesterday.

Its public relations division and secretariat said MPAJ’s Enforcement Department, which carried out the operation, issued a compound for the offence of employing foreigners without a permit.

“A total of 30 business premises were inspected during the operation, of which 16 were found to be operating without licences.

“Of the 16, eight are located along Jalan Permai D and another eight at Pangsapuri Berembang Indah. Compounds were also issued on the premises around the apartments,” it said in a statement today.

The operation was conducted under the Trade, Business and Industrial Licensing Bylaws (MPAJ) 2007, and the Food Establishment Licensing Bylaws (MPAJ) 2007.

“All business activities in MPAJ’s administrative area must obtain a business license from the council.

“Traders are also advised to comply with the rules and avoid violating the law, especially when it comes to employing foreigners,” said MPAJ.
