Hawana 2023: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad sponsors RM10,000

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad today provided sponsorship worth RM10,000 for the organisation of the 2023 National Journalists’ Day (Hawana) celebration which is scheduled to take place from May 27 to May 29 in Ipoh, Perak.

A mock cheque of the contribution was presented by Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad Group corporate communications chief Rohazida Mohamed to Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, at the Hawana 2023 pre-launch ceremony held at Wisma Bernama, earlier today.

The handover was witnessed by Communications and Digital Ministry deputy-secretary general (strategic communications and creative industry) Mastura Ahmad Mustafa, and Bernama chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin.

Rohazida, when met at the event, said this was the second time the company was sponsoring the event, with the first being in 2018.

“For Bank Islam, we are very grateful to the media… With the support of the media, they have presented the journey of Bank Islam, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary soon. So we felt this was the best opportunity to support the media in a big way.

InsyaAllah, this effort will continue with the relationship that has been built with Bernama and perhaps with other events as well,” she said while wishing a happy National Journalists’ Day to all media practitioners in the country.

Hawana 2023 with the theme Free and Secure Media, A Pillar of Democracy, is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
