SHAH ALAM, May 21 — Approximately RM526,536 has been allocated to upgrade the football field in Section 18, among other things, said Batu Tiga state assemblyman Rodziah Ismail.
She said the initiative also includes the construction of several other facilities.
“The total field surface, measuring 12,000 square meters, has been restored, with the addition of a subsoil pipe system for the football field.
“A 464-metre long pedestrian path, a waqf, and also additional park benches, goal posts and field flags were constructed as well,” said Rodziah.
She was speaking at the field’s opening ceremony along Jalan Rumbia 2, earlier today. Also in attendance were Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof and Shah Alam City Council (MBSA)
Deputy Secretary for Development Yunus Suri.
The upgrade works were completed in October last year, via a RM200,000 allocation from the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit, with the remaining amount provided by MBSA.
Rodziah added that other repair works included fixing the ball barrier posts and painting the field lines.
“Alhamdulillah, I hope the amenities will be used by the residents for various activities, including aerobics, sports competitions, and so on,” she said.
