KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — The Bumiputera Property Exhibition (BPEX), scheduled for this coming weekend (May 27 and 28), aims to educate young Bumiputeras about property ownership.
State executive councillor for housing and urban wellbeing Rodziah Ismail said that the two-day exhibition at Hall 3 of the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre serves as a comprehensive platform for potential buyers seeking guidance on acquiring their first home.
“At the exhibition, the visitors can learn about the Bumiputera quota provided by the government and receive financial advice from the relevant institutions.
“Representatives from the Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme (SJKP) will also be present to facilitate the process and assist potential buyers who do not have with them a payslip or financial statement,” she said during a BPEX press conference at the Westlink Garage and Cafe in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, here today.
Rodziah expressed her hope that the exhibition, which runs from 11am to 9pm, would be an educational platform to help buyers gain a clear understanding of the home purchasing process.
“I have also requested the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), Selangor State Investment Corporation (PNSB), and Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) to participate in the exhibition to share relevant information.
“The state government has implemented various initiatives to provide opportunities for Selangor residents to own homes, including the Rumah Selangorku 3.0 policy.
“The affordable homes initiative is also offered to newlyweds so that young couples could become homeowners,” she added.
Previously, Rodziah said that LPHS recorded nearly 120,000 applicants on the waiting list for Rumah Selangorku.
This number exceeds the state government’s target of developing 60,000 affordable homes by 2025.
