PETALING JAYA, May 13 — The National Convention of the Unity Government, which brings together 19 parties tomorrow, will focus on the agenda of stabilisation and restoring determination.

Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairman cum Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this aspect must be paid attention to, due to the political instability that was a hallmark of the previous Federal government.

“At the least, we will strengthen our resolve as well as guarantee stability, joint economic recovery, and implement the reform agenda for Harapan.

“We strengthened several of these elements since we previously had an unstable government. This was a lesson for leaders, which I believe everyone understood,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the officiation of the Petaling Jaya parliamentary constituency’s People’s Service Center, at Jalan Othman in Section 1, earlier today.

The Menteri Besar said the convention will see 19 political parties unite in the largest coalition in Malaysia’s political history.

“I feel the majority understands that stability must be maintained first, before discussing any other political matters,” he said.

The Unity Government National Convention at the World Trade Center (WTC) tomorrow is expected to bring together an estimated 10,000 delegates from the parties in the unity government coalition.

Themed MADANI Mewajahi Masa Depan Malaysia, it is the inaugural event of its kind since the formation of the unity government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim six months ago.
