KUALA SELANGOR, June 22 — Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) will not succumb to cheap politicking centring on sensitive issues that could jeopardise the country’s racial harmony in the upcoming state elections.

Instead, its strategic director Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the party would campaign in a healthy manner, promoting policies beneficial for the rakyat.

He also expressed Amanah’s readiness to face the poll in Selangor, despite an expected tough battle.

“It will certainly be competitive, because they (opposition) have many TikTok users and what not. If they orientate their campaign towards racial and religious issues, it will be unhealthy for Selangor and the country.

“We want to campaign healthily, competing based on policies and implementations. Don’t tear the fabric of our racial harmony, that’s irresponsible,” he told reporters, here, yesterday.

Dr Dzulkefly was met after handing out donation courtesy of the Social Security Organisation (Socso) to a disabled youth, Muhamad Danial Musa, 22, living Kampung Parit Mahang.

The Kuala Selangor MP added that Amanah is projected to contest in eight of the 56 constituencies in Selangor, including seats it won in the last election.

However, he acknowledged that the final decision would only be announced officially by the top leadership.

“Surely we want to win all the seats. God willing, we can, with hardwork, prayers and the support of all public members.

In the 2018 general election, Amanah won six of the 10 seats it contested in Selangor.
