SHAH ALAM, June 27 — The counter for applications for the Muassasah Haj Pilgrims Incentive programme will be open every Monday and Tuesday starting from 10 July, says the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI.

Its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said that application documents can be submitted at Café LG of the Darul Ehsan Building, here, from 10am to 1pm.

“Following the dissolution of the Selangor state assembly on June 23, MBI will open the counter for applications for the programme to the public starting July 10.

“The application period for this incentive ends on August 29. The applicants are required to bring a copy of their identification card along with the offer letter for performing the pilgrimage for the 1444H/2023 haj season, which states the payment amount (advance payment only) and the complete flight schedule with the MUAS code,” he said in a statement, yesterday.

Ahmad Azri said 1,519 applications have been approved since the initiative opened on May 19.

“The approved applications involve an allocation of RM759,500. MBI will contact the applicants after approval to disburse the incentive,” he said.

On May 17, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that 3,000 pilgrims would receive a RM500 incentive for Haji Muassasah, specifically for the low- and middle-income groups (B40 and M40).

He said in addition to the cash assistance, the pilgrims will also receive a syifa (healing) kit including medicines, disinfectant, lotion, and lip balm.

The eligibility criteria for the incentive are as follows:

  • Must be Malaysian citizens.
  • Must be Selangor residents and have registered for Hajj at any branch of the Selangor Tabung Haji Board.
  • Applicants residing outside Selangor (based on identification card) but living in Selangor can still apply for this incentive provided they submit supporting documents such as utility bills (water/electricity) or property tax under the applicant’s name only OR a support letter from the local leader.
  • Applicants must be Haj Muassasah pilgrims from the B40 and M40 groups only, with the haj payment amount determined by the Tabung Haji Board (TH). Haj payment amount for the B40 Group is RM10,980.00 and M40 at RM15,980.00.
  • Applicants residing in Selangor but registered for Haj at a Tabung Haji branch outside Selangor can still apply, provided they submit a MySemakSPR (Voter Registration) slip from Selangor.
