SHAH ALAM, June 23 – Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has urged the citizens of Selangor to evaluate themselves the performance of his administration when deciding on who to vote for in the coming state polls.

He also urged the public to participate in the upcoming election to choose a government that would continue the efforts to foster better socio-economic growth in the state.

In his final address to state civil servants today, in conjunction with the dissolution of the Selangor legislative assembly, Amirudin admitted that his administration is not without fault

but stressed that it is always improving to provide the best service to the people.

“Evaluate the administration’s capabilities and track record. Choose a government that values self-reflection and aims to rectify mistakes.

“We are a government that constantly seeks forgiveness and aims to rectify our mistakes. We are not a government that repeats our mistakes and is arrogant… arrogance has no place in our approach to governance,” he said in his speech today.

Among those present at the programme were Selangor State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim and the state leadership lineup.

During his speech, Amirudin also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation everyone has given him throughout the past term and apologised to the people and state civil servants for any shortcoming.

“As the leader of the team, I am aware that there may have been instances when I spoke harshly, lacked smiles, or exhibited other shortcomings. I apologise for that.

“Insyaallah, without being arrogant, I believe we can work together again and continue our plans to shape a better Selangor,” he said.

Amirudin’s speech was delivered following the dissolution of the state assembly, which effectively transitioned his administration into a caretaker government, in anticipation of the upcoming state election.
