Merge Federal, state entrepreneurial programmes for greater benefit — MB

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, June 12 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari hopes entrepreneurial programmes organised by the state and Federal governments can be merged in the future to further empower the community, businesses and cooperatives.

He said such unification will lead to a more comprehensive entrepreneur development ecosystem in the country.

“I believe with this merge, it will be a beautiful moment for all. Several elements such as funds, grants, knowledge and human resource development among entrepreneurs can be better and easier managed.

“I hope this initiative can be realised some day. It will not only benefit the state, but also companies, cooperatives and entrepreneurs.

“I believe it will act as a fort to the country’s economy, should it face an economic crisis in the future,” he said in his speech at the launch of the Madani Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives Tour (PJUKM 2023) programme, here, yesterday.

On a related note, Amirudin said Selangor remains among the states that conduct various initiatives to assist entrepreneurs, including programmes under Hijrah Selangor and Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).

He explained since 2015, the state government has spent over RM250 million for the organisation of such programmes, while more than RM500 million in loans have been issued to entrepreneurs to date.

Earlier, Amirudin handed over business grants valued at over RM64 million to 16 entrepreneurs in Selangor, witnessed by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.
