SHAH ALAM, June 10 — The state has received up to RM60 billion in investments over the past year, which has led to the creation of over 19,000 job opportunities.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said during the first three months between January and March, the state government recorded approximately RM7.4 billion in investment value.

“Within that period, we created 5,300 employment opportunities which focus both on regular work and also on skilled professions.

“This is the result of the state government’s diligent efforts. After our visit to Berlin, Germany, we formed a work network to develop technical and vocational education and training,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the Selangor Technical and Development Centre’s (STDC) 23rd Convocation ceremony, at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz in the State Secretariat Building earlier today.

In March, the Menteri Besar said Selangor succeeded in attracting 265 manufacturing sector investment projects worth RM12.2 billion last year.

Data released by the Malaysian Investment Development Board (Mida) has indicated that both domestic and international investors are confident in selecting Selangor as their main investment destination.

In 2019, Amirudin led a working delegation to Berlin which encompassed a series of discussions with conglomerate, as well as visits to well-known industry training centres.
