SHAH ALAM, June 11 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have expressed royal condolences to the family of the late Datin Seri Salmah Sulaiman, who passed away yesterday.

The Selangor Royal Office said Salmah, 83, was the widow of Dato’ Seri Harun Idris, who served as Menteri Besar in the 1960s and 1970s.

“Their Royal Highnesses knew late Datin Seri Salmah, as her late husband served as the 8th Menteri Besar of Selangor from 1964 to 1976.

“Dato’ Seri Harun passed away on October 19, 2003, at the age of 77,” it said in a Facebook post.

Both Harun and Salmah were the founders of Rumah Bakti Datuk Harun in Hulu Kelang, which was established on August 1966.

“Their Royal Highnesses pray for the deceased’s soul to be blessed and placed among the righteous,” Selangor Royal Office said.
