SHAH ALAM, June 29 — The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah graciously attended the Hari Raya Aidiladha prayer with congregants at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, earlier today.
Dressed in a grey baju Melayu, His Highness arrived at approximately 8am and was welcomed by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.
The prayer was attended by approximately 7,000 worshippers, led by the Chief Imam of the state mosque Muhammad Farhan Wijaya, who also delivered a sermon titled Iduladha Suatu Pengorbanan.
In the sermon, he urged Muslims to draw lessons from the sacrifice of the Prophet Ibrahim in obeying Allah’s command to sacrifice his beloved son, the Prophet Ismail.
“Prophet Ibrahim informed his son about Allah’s command, and Prophet Ismail accepted it with unwavering obedience.
“Their sacrifice was then rewarded and replaced by Allah with a great sacrificial animal,” Muhammad Farhan said.
Following the prayer and sermon, His Highness attended the meal at the mosque, before departing at approximately 9.15am.
