Unity among believers, sacrifice key to brotherhood — MB

SHAH ALAM, June 29 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has called upon all Muslims to remain unified, as Islam teaches its adherents to foster a sense of brotherhood.

In a special address in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha, he said the brotherhood should transcend status or nationality and among different races, as well as eliminate divisive attitudes for the sake of piety towards Allah SWT.

“The month of Zulhijjah is synonymous with two significant practices, namely performing the Hajj pilgrimage and the act of sacrifice. These acts of worship carry immense rewards and blessings in the sight of Allah SWT.

“The practice of sacrifice teaches us the essence of sincerity in fulfilling Allah SWT’s command, even if it requires sacrificing wealth and time. Such sincerity will guide us to following in the path of Allah SWT, with greater piety,” Amirudin said.

The Menteri Besar added he prays the celebration of Aidiladha brings everybody closer to Allah SWT and teaches all and sundry to practice the true values of Islam.

“May this occasion strengthen the bonds among family members, neighbours, friends, and the community. Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha,” he said.
